Special ‘Azadi Train’ kick off on Saturday
Islamabad: Pakistan Railways is celebrating 70 years of Independence of Pakistan by running Special ‘Azadi Train’ for period of fifteen days as a representation of national unity. ‘Azadi Train’ will start countrywide journey from Margalla Station, Islamabad on Saturday, August 12 and will be inaugurated by Federal Minister for Railways Khwaja Saad Rafique.
The train will showcase ethnic festivities by night staying at major stations. ‘Azadi Train’ will encompass of five galleries and six floats.
The five galleries comprise themes like Independence Movement, sacrifices rendered by Armed Forces of Pakistan for safety and security of nation, Human Rights Violations in Indian Held Kashmir, development projects of Pakistan and CPEC and history and
future plans of Pakistan Railways.
The six Floats will comprise of one float each related to Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir depicting the regional diversity and different cultural shades of each region.
