The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has taken a major step towards development of stalled Sector E-12 with the possession of 300 kanals of land after an operation carried out with heavy machinery of Machinery Pool Organisation (MPO).
With the retrieval of 300 kanals, the CDA has got possession of 1,200 kanals in Sector E-12 in a short span of time due to hectic efforts.
The CDA had launched Sector E-12 in 1989 but it could not secure possession due to multiple reasons. Now the focus of the current CDA administration is to secure possession in all those sectors, which are under adverse possession so that these stalled sectors could be developed on priority to facilitate the allottees who were allotted plots in these sectors many years ago.
With the possession of 1,200 kanals in Sector E-12, the CDA is now in a position to construct service road and it can also initiate development work in Sub-Sector E-12/2.
A spokesman for the CDA has claimed that now there is no hurdle in starting construction of service road as well as in the development of markaz in Sub-Sector E-12/2.
The CDA retrieved land after successful dialogue and consultation with local elders and ‘numberdars’ of Dherek, Mohri, Seri Siral and Dhoke Chora. The locals supported this operation and fully cooperated with the CDA team. The cooperation and support of the locals will enable CDA to get possession of land of the whole sector and development activities in the sector would be completed.
CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal has lauded the retrieval of hundreds of kanals of land in Sector E-12 and directed Member Administration and Estate Amer Ali Ahmed to take effective steps to ensure the initiation of development work.
He directed Member Administration and Estate that after possession of land, in first phase, work on construction of Service Road and Markaz in Sub-Sector E-12/2 as well as development activities in the whole Sector E-12 should start.
He said that recently the CDA has initiated development activities on various stalled projects such as development in Sector D-12, which are in full swing, adding that after award of contract; the development activities in Park Enclave are also in full swing and which would be completed in stipulated time. Similarly, pre-qualification for development of Sector I-15 is in process and development work would also begin in Sector I-15 after the due process.
