PHC stays PSTs appointment across KP

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday stayed appointment of Primary School Teachers (PSTs) across the province.
A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and Justice Muhammad Daud Khan also summoned director Elementary and Secondary Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and district education officers male and female to explain their position as why the court orders were not implemented regarding appointments of PSTs on the next hearing.
Muhammad Iqbal Amin and others had filed the writ petition in the court, claiming that the court, on December 14, 2014, stayed the appointment of PSTs through NTS until the petitioners were not appointed without NTS tests.
The petitioners lawyer, Muhammad Ijaz Sabi, submitted that despite the court’s orders, the provincial government did not appoint the petitioners on the vacant available posts across the province.The court fixed March 4 for next hearing.
