CM wants district governments’ funds utilised transparently

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said the district governments are bound to ensure spending under the already approved formula of the provincial government.

He was talking to a delegation of members of Shangla district council led by Sadeed-ur-Rehman at the Chief Minister’s House, said an official handout.

Special Assistant to Chief Minister Abdul Munim, Member Provincial Assembly Shaukat Yousafzai and others were also present.

The delegation apprised the chief minister about the problems in the developmental strategy and issues faced by the people of the district.

The chief minister said the district governments should ensure transparent utilization of resources on education, health and other schemes of public welfare to reduce the people grievances.

He directed the Monitoring and Evaluation Department to review procedure for spending in health, education and other sectors. Pervez Khattak called for preparing a comprehensive report and sending the document to him. The chief minister added that the provincial government had devolved power and authority at the grassroots level to give relief to the poor. It wants to resolve the people problems at their doorstep, he added.

Pervez Khattak said his government was committed to spending on public and he had directed the district governments to ensure just utilization of resources and complete the developmental strategy meant for public welfare.

He said education, health and social welfare and efficient services to the poor were his government priority.
