BAHAWALPUR: A dacoit was killed in an exchange of fire with locals in the Naushera Jadeed police limits on Monday.
According to a press release issued by the Bahawalpur DPO, 5-6 dacoits barged into the cattle pen of Bhinda Wains and tried to take away a bike. On the hue and cry of the family, locals gathered there and besieged the dacoits. The dacoits and locals exchanged fire for sometime. As a result, a dacoit was killed while his accomplices managed to escape. The deceased was identified as Ghulam Yasin alias Chena, head of the inter-district Chena Gang. The press release added that the deceased was wanted in dozens cases of murder, attempt to murder, and dacoities by the Dhor Kot, Muzaffargarh’s Shehr Sultan and Multan’s Jalalpur Pirwala police.

BAHAWALPUR: Jobless having degrees in Physical Education staged a demonstration outside the Rahimyar Khan press club on Monday.
The protesters led by Sajjad Mehmood Khan said that hundreds seats of Physical Education teachers were vacant in high schools and colleges in the province, but they were jobless. They appealed to the authorities concerned to fill the vacant seats on merit.
