Six killed as rivals trade fire in Orakzai Agency

KALAYA: Six persons were killed when rivals traded fire at a jirga in Nakata Sheikhan area in upper parts of Orakzai Agency on Thursday, tribal sources said.

They said a jirga was in progress to settle the land ownership dispute between Rasool Badshah and Ajmal Khan.

They said the rivals traded fire after an exchange of harsh words. As a result, six persons from the two groups were killed on the spot.

Nakata Sheikhan is a remote mountainous area in Orakzai due to which no details of the incident could be obtained.

Other reports said unidentified gunmen shot dead Rasool Badshah while his companion mysteriously disappeared after the incident.

It was reported that one Rasool Badshah and his friend Asif were on way to attend a jirga in the mountainous Nakata Sheikhan area when unknown gunmen fired at them.

As a result, Rasool Badshah was killed on the spot while his friend Asif disappeared mysteriously, the sources said. Some media reports said that four persons were killed in the incident.
