Rawalpindi: The health department has constituted special anti-dengue teams also comprising women to carry out spot checking and outside the houses and submit their reports about the level of threat from the dengue fever on daily basis.
The teams would immediately visit those areas where threat of the dengue fever is imminent like Dhoke Ellahi Bakhsh, Chah Sultan, Dhoke Ratta Amral, UC-4, UC-5, UC-6,UC-14, UC-40 and F-Block (Satellite Town).
These teams have been constituted on the directives of the Punjab chief minister to sensitise the people about the precautionary measures against dengue virus. The Punjab government has directed all the departments to vigorously continue anti-dengue activities and outdoor and indoor surveillance till the end of dengue season.
The women teams would visit residential units to interact with the female inmates to make them aware about the precautionary measures to thwart the threat of the dengue fever.
Chief Executive Health Rawalpindi Dr. Fayyaz Ahmad Butt said next few months are very important regarding dengue; therefore, the anti-dengue teams have to discharge their duties with dedication and professionalism.
"The Rawalpindi district administration and Health Department are working in close coordination to cope with the challenges related to the threat of the dengue fever," he said.
