Islamabad: The Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has extended the term of Hasnat Qureshi as the acting chief of the Federal Directorate of Education, which oversees the government schools and colleges in Islamabad Capital Territory.
He will continue acting as a stand-in for the permanent FDE director general (BPS-20).
Hasnat Qureshi, who is also the interim chairman of the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority, was given the additional charge of the FDE DG’s office on April 14 ‘for a period of three months or till the availability of regular incumbent of the post, whichever is earlier.’
At both the FDE and the PEIRA, the CADD, which has the administrative control of both the organisations, instead of filling top vacancies on permanent basis has long been posting its one senior officer after another or outsiders as interim chiefs.
The last permanent FDE director general, who had retired in December last year on attaining the age of superannuation, while the last permanent PEIRA chairman had abandoned the office in June 2013.
