Corruption
In an advertisement issued by Sindh University Jamshoro, the institution calls eligible candidates to apply to the post of lecturers, assistant professors, and professors in all departments. The university has recently announced the names of selected candidates. However, the recent result shows that transparency wasn’t ensured during the recruitment process. Students who topped the written test were not selected. Candidates with fewer marks but ‘influential backgrounds’ were selected.
It is unfortunate that corruption is rampant in education institutions across the country. The concerned authorities must look into the matter. Merit-based appointments must be made so that deserving students can earn the fruit of their hard work. Nepotism will destroy reputable education institutions beyond repair.
