ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek -e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry Monday said that his party had submitted in the Supreme Court details of funds it received and that PTI didn't receive a single penny from anyone like

Osama bin Laden as did Nawaz Sharif.

He told a media conference here that the assets of Sharif family were more than the assets of a province.

He called for accountability of funds of Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s JUI-Fazl which it had been receiving from Libya.

Majority of funds, he pointed out, received by the party ranged from 10 to 15 dollars. "PTI donors do not include people like Osama bin Laden, from whom Nawaz Sharif received huge funds," he contended.

Fawad said the money trail of Imran had been given to the Supreme Court and now the PTI’s funding details had also been submitted to the apex court, consisting of three volumes, detailing funds, provided by over 30,000 persons.

He charged PTI’s rivals wanted to make the party controversial, as the ruling PML-N was going to split into factions. Details of 1,70000 pounds were sought, he noted and continued, Imran shared money trail of about 3,50000 pounds with the apex court.

Referring to PML-N’s Hanif Abbasi, Fawad claimed none knew about him, but after he got the Ephedrine quota, he became an important leader of the ruling party.

He noted Akbar S Babar, whom he called a discarded PTI member, had claimed there was no record of three years of party’s foreign funding, whereas they decided to provide record of 2010-2017 to the apex court.

It is pertinent that weeks back, the Election Commission of Pakistan said that Babar continued to the PTI member, as no legal procedure was followed to oust him.

Fawad said that the patriotism of overseas Pakistanis must not be doubted, who sent back home, hard-earned money. He pointed out that PTI received about 3 million dollars from abroad and all this money was transferred to Pakistan through official banking channels.

He explained that under the US law, there was no concept of direct funding, therefore, services of an agent company were hired, which comprised of persons, having Pakistani background. Fawad noted that from 2010 to 2013, Dr

Nasrullah was the funds in-charge.

Fawad said that as per the ECP law, Imran provided to certificates in this connection. He claimed PTI chairman was the only leader in Pakistan, who enjoyed confidence of people the world over. “Though Imran Khan never held a public office, his party will disprove allegations against it at every forum, for it is up against a mafia,” he claimed.

Responding to statement by Punjab law minister, he said Rana Sanaullah only sees outside conspiracies and not the ones inside Sharif family.

"Isn't a conspiracy too that the prime minister's children became billionaire overnight?"

Fawad questioned the purchase of Rs6.5 billion worth house by Hassan Nawaz and transfer of Rs880

million to Maryam Nawaz's account.

Imran’s aide Naeemul Haq claimed under a conspiracy, PML-N got registered a case against Imran in the Supreme Court through Hanif

Abbasi and raised two matters: money trail of Banigala property and PTI’s foreign funding.

Haq said he was associated with PTI for the last 21 years and he never found anyone so strict as Imran was

with regards to financial matters.

“Our entire funds are audited annually and details are filed in the Election Commission and none ever raised any objection thereon,” he noted.

PTI leader claimed Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital received more donations than any other entity, as people trusted Imran.

He added they had never hidden anything regarding Imran or the party and also never violated any law.
