Famous Pashto singer, six others injured in rivals’ attack

NOWSHERA: Severn persons, including famous Pashto singer and recipient of presidential award, Zarsanga, sustained severe injuries when rival party attacked their house in Baila Koroona in Pirpiai area in Nowshera district on Sunday.

Shehzada, son of, Mulla Jan, a resident of Baila Koroona, reported to police in injured condition that he along with his mother Zarsanga, Noshada Bibi, Amin alias Meeno, Zubair, Babu and Mustafa were present in home when accused Shabbir, Habib, Khalid and their other accomplices broke into their house and started beating them with fist and sticks.

He said all the inmates including Zarsanga, who has won the Pride of Performance Award, and other awards for her melodious voice and recognition of her service to Pashto folklore music, sustained severe injuries. He claimed they were first beaten black and blue and then expelled them from their home before locking it.

He told the police that the motive behind the incident was a monetary dispute.Meanwhile, Khairul Bashar of Baila Koroona while registering a case, told the police that they had sold a cow to Shehzada, son of Zarsanga, some time ago but he was not paying the money. He said that Shehzada, Amin alias Meeno, Zubair, Babu and Mustafa started beating him and his relatives Sudhair, Yasir, Abdur Rehman and Shabbir, causing them severe injuries. Later, the police arrested six accused in the case registered by Shehzada. However, they were freed by the court on bail.
