Pakistan outwit Oman, but lose to Qatar
KARACHI: Qatar defeated Pakistan 3-1 in their match of the 6th International Senior Men’s Friendly Volleyball tournament in Doha, Qatar, on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Pakistan had defeated Oman 3-1. Pakistan won the first set 25-17. Oman leveled it 1-1, winning the second set 25-23. Pakistan brought discipline in their ranks and won the next two sets 25-14, 25-22 to complete an emphatic triumph.
The three-nation friendly event is aimed to provide practice to the competing sides ahead of the Asian Championship to be held in Indonesia from July 24 to August 1.
Qatar had lost to Oman 2-3 the other day after a gripping fight.Pakistan will proceed to Indonesia on Thursday night (today) to take part in the continental event, carrying 16 teams from Asia.Pakistan have been clubbed in Group B with Iran, Chinese Taipei and Iraq.
