Pak musician to represent country in Kazakhstan

Islamabad: Pakistani Rababist (Rabab player) Adnan Haider will represent the country in Kazakhstan in August this year.

While talking to ‘The News’, Adnan Haider said “I am feeling so proud to represent Pakistan on international level and I will try my best to give my best performance and to make my country proud.”

After winning Rabab playing competitions on domestic level now Adnan is giving fulltime to music and making his future in this field. Adnan Haider, who belongs to Parachanar, Kurram Agency, graduated from National Collage of Arts (NCA) told that music instrument ‘Rabab’ belong to Afghanistan is very much popular in Pashtuns. Pathans use to play this music instruments on the mountains but now this instrument is getting popularity all over the world.

He said almost daily I am getting number requests from youngsters to teach them how to play ‘Rabab’.  Adnan is a ‘Rabab’ teacher in Lok Virsa and also running his private music academy ‘Artistoo Studio’ in Rawalpindi. Currently Adnan is teaching ‘Rabab’ to his 14 students including two Austrians and a German.

Talking about future in music Adnan Haider said that it is very unfortunate that people still don’t give respect to musicians. “It was very difficult for me to disclose to my family that I am learning how to play ‘Rabab,’ after three years when I shifted to Peshawar and won Rabab playing competition and my family members saw me on television then they came to know and now they are supporting me,” he said.

He said that Pakistan is full of talent we have best musicians, best players, best doctors and best professionals in all the fields, our youth just need right direction and chance to prove their talent. Adnan Haider said with my performance in Kazakhstan people would know about our traditional music and there would be positive image of Pakistan.
