Two soldiers martyred in Kurram Agency blast
PARACHINAR: Two soldiers were martyred and five others wounded in a blast near a checkpost of security forces in Kurram Agency, official sources said on Monday.
The sources said terrorists had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) at the roadside in Laka Tega near the Afghan border which went off when the soldiers were passing through the area.
Two soldiers Ismail Afridi and Hukum Gul were killed in the blast. Another contingent of soldiers rushed to the area for rescue activities when their vehicle was targeted with another device, leaving five more soldiers wounded.
The injured were taken to the Combined Military Hospital in Thall where one of them was stated to be in critical condition. The security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attacks.
