NOWSHERA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq has said that the enemies of Islam were creating a rift among the Muslims on the basis of ethnicities and sectarianism.

During the Eidul Fitr sermon at Darul Uloom Haqqania, he said that rulers were busy in protecting the interests of the enemies of Islam. He alleged the government was issuing arrest warrants of religious leaders who were speaking against the Western conspiracies against Islam and Muslims.

“The government tactics to discourage the Ulema from speaking in support of jihad is tantamount to challenging the teachings of Islam,” he added. He said those urging the masses to work for a change and revolution should understand that the real change and revolution could be brought through the implementation of Islamic laws.

The JUI-S chief said that all religious and political leaders should have forged unity for the protection of the country. He deplored that they were appeasing their masters in the West. Maulana Samiul Haq asked the government to stop what he believed was anti-seminaries campaign and announced support to seminaries for the promotion of Islamic knowledge in the society.
