LAHORE: Inter Faith Dialogue Forum (IFDF), a platform of religious leaders belonging to different faiths and schools of thought, has announced holding an interfaith conference in Lahore immediately after Eid to chalk out different ways and means to promote cross religious harmony and tolerance.
This announcement was made by IFDF president Javed William and secretary general Maulana Asim Makhdoom while briefing the media after a meeting of the forum. They said the meeting reviewed final preparations of the conference. Maulana Asim said the IFDF intended to hold a number of conferences and inter-faith dialogues among people, students and intellectuals across the country to promote religious harmony.
He said various training workshops would be held while different centres would also be set up across the country to hold the dialogues among different faiths. The dialogues would be aimed at eliminating extremism, terrorism and sectarianism from society. The meeting was participated by vice president Mufti Ashiq Hussain Shah, Fr Jamil Albert, Fr Samuel Nawab, Maulana Shakilur Rehman Nasir, Dr Badar Munir, Fr Vector, Allama Muhammad Ashgar, Qari Inamur Raheem and others.
