The repair and renovation work in Islamabad Zoo has finally been completed as the administration is expecting a great rush of visitors due to presentation of recently born four cubs of lioness on the occasion of the Eidul Fitr.

The food courts that were closed down during the month of Ramazan have been renovated and now these have improved seating arrangement for the visitors. The swings have been painted with different beautiful colours to make them attractive especially for the children.

The one of the main attractions on Eidul Fitr would be presentation of four cubs that are currently being kept under highly secure environment to maintain their health. Rani, the African lioness at Marghazar Zoo, and her newly born cubs are currently living in a separate designated room, where their movement is being monitored through CCTV cameras.

CDA's Director Zoo Muhammad Irshad said the pair of African lions was brought to the zoo in May last year under the Punjab government’s birds and animals exchange programme. "We have created a natural atmosphere for the breeding of zoo inmates. Now, we are keeping a check on the health of newborns," he said.

According to the Zoo officials as soon as the news of birth of four cubs were telecast on news channels a large number of people especially children have been making calls to get to know whether these would be presented before the visitors on Eidul Fitr.
