BISHAM: The police have arrested five suspects after the body of a six-year-old girl was recovered from a street in Shang village in Shangla district here on Thursday. Family members said that six-year old Madiha Tariq had left home for madrassa to learn Quran. They started search for the girl when she did not return home.
Later, locals found her body stuffed in a cement sack in a street in the locality. The police reached the spot and shifted the body to District Headquarters Hospital for medical examination, which confirmed that the victim had been raped before being killed.
Local sources said that slippers of the girl were recovered from the roof of a house in the area. The police arrested five people on the basis of suspicion. They included Jamraz and his sons. The medical report confirmed that the victim had been strangulated to death after being raped.
The locals alleged that Jamraz had been involved in such heinous crimes in the past as well. They demanded the government to hand over the case to the military court for awarding exemplary punishment to the culprit. The police produced the accused before a local court and secured their seven days physical remand.
Court also observed that it would not intervene in the policy matters of the government
