Mentally deranged man kills boy

LAHORE

A 10-year-old boy was killed with the strokes of bricks reportedly by a mentally deranged person in the Shahdra police area Wednesday.

Police have arrested the accused, Shahbaz. Police said the accused trapped victim Haider in a street and hit his head with bricks. As a result, the victim sustained injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.  The body has been removed to morgue. 

forensic evidence training: Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) successfully concluded its seven-day training programme on collection, legal usage and significance of electronic forensic evidence with regard to litigation and court trials. 

The training process lasted from June 10 to June 17 and focused on use of electronic forensic evidence acquired from the latest electronic devices as credible evidence in court trials, after amendment to Article 164 of Law of Evidence (Order 1984). 

 The training programme was attended by 97 public prosecutors, representatives of Prosecution Department and legal experts. The programme was applauded widely as the participants appreciated PSCA’s initiatives and vowed to pursue and prosecute offenders using latest technological methodology. 

Seven arrested: Harbanspura and Mughalpura police claimed to have arrested a gang of kidnappers, including an inspector of an agency and two police constables, involved in kidnapping patwaris.

SSP Investigations Ghulam Mubashar Maken said this during a press conference at his office on Wednesday. The SSP said the "kidnappers" had abducted two patwaris for ransom and released patwari Irfan after taking Rs8 million ransom. As they were trying to receive ransom from Patwari Khalid, police arrested seven of them. Further investigations are underway. 

Two suspects arrested: Two persons were arrested during search and combing operation around 180-H and 196-H by Model Town and Liaqatabad police.

Police seized one pistol and 500 grams charas.

Meanwhile, police sealed a brothel during the same search and combing operation and arrested three women and four men. Cases have been registered against the accused.
