Pak victory celebrated in UAE, Bahrain
DUBAI: The celebrations of Pakistan’s victory in the ICC Champion Trophy brought hundreds of Pakistanis out of their homes in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Many Pakistanis took to the streets of Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi where the culture of rallies is not common. But now it was Pakistan’s Victory Day around the cricketing world and they were jubilant and so rallied all across UAE.
Thus motorists had to stop their vehicles in Bur Dubai and Areas of Rolla and Nahda in Sharjah. Pakistanis have been watching their team in action in UAE because the emirates turned into the home of Pakistani cricket since the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore in March 2009.
Cricket lovers were overjoyed to see the performance of stars of Pakistan Super League (PSL) like Hassan Ali; Fakhar Zaman; Ruman Raees in the ICC Champion Trophy.
Even the Kashmiris in UAE took part in the celebrations of the victory and chanted slogans Pakistan Zindabad and Azadi, Azadi (‘Freedom, Freedom’).
In another middle eastern state of Bahrain Pakistanis celebrated in different rallies also. Ambassador of Pakistan Javed Malik said in a video message that the joy of winning against India was unbelievable.
Former governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad congratulated Pakistan team and said in his message that it was great to witness Pakistan’s exceptional victory against India with such a big margin.
