Water filtration plant for Toba

TOBA TEK SINGH: A Canada-based NGO has provided a modern water filtration plant worth Rs 3.5 million for Toba Tek Singh citizens through the Al Khidmat Foundation.
AKF district president Dr Zahid Sattar told here that citizens were in dire need of this plant as they were being supplied canal’s dirty water by the TMA. He added that it would run on no profit no loss base and those who would get 19 litres water pack from the plant would be charged Rs 30 each while the home supply would be made against Rs 40 to registered members. He said that 300 citizens had so far obtained its membership. He said that water treated by this plant had been got tested by the citizens and doctors from different laboratories and it had been proved that its quality was not less than any multinational or local water supplying company. The plant would produce 2,375 litres pure water per hour, he added.
