Prices of fruits, vegetables remain stable

The prices of fruits and vegetables overall remained stable after minor fluctuation in price of some items in the federal capital here on Thursday.

According to the Islamabad Market Committee Price List issued here, the prices of various fruits and vegetables showed no major difference from the price list of the previous week.

According to price list, potato was sold at Rs35/32 per kilogram, onion Rs24/21, tomato Rs29/24, ginger Rs150/135, garlic (Quetta) Rs160/145, garlic local 115/100, lemon Rs150/135, lady finger Rs42/36, pumpkin Rs30/24, Brinjal Rs32/25, peas Rs125/110, fresh bean Rs90/80, Tinda Walaiti (imported gourd small) Rs66/55, cucumber Rs26/21, capsicum Rs42/35, green chilli Rs38/32, cauliflower Rs80/60, cabbage Rs19/16, bitter gourd Rs35/24, green zucchini Rs39/35, spinach Rs26/23, yam Rs80/70, maroo Rs32/27, carrot Rs45/42, chicken Rs140 and egg per dozen Rs92.

Likewise, the rates of fruits per kilogram of high and medium quality in Islamabad are as follows: apple (kala kalo) Rs180/140, apple golden Rs135/90, apple white Rs130/92, apple China Rs235/170, banana Pak Rs135/120, banana India Rs195/155, pear China Rs160/120, melon Rs46/37, water melon Rs15/13, mango (Malda) 90/60, mango (Sindhi) Rs95/70, dates (Pakistani) Rs90/65, dates (Irani) Rs75/50, mango (local) Rs60/40 and apricot at Rs130/95, cherry Rs245/220, plum Rs110/80 and plum (special) Rs133/92.

The people are asked to ensure that they purchased vegetables and fruits as per rate list and inform authorities at 051-9108084 in case of any compliant against shopkeepers.
