Bail granted to actress in murder attempt case

The Lahore High Court on Monday confirmed pre-arrest bail earlier granted to a local stage actress Honey Shehzadi who is accused in an attempt to murder case.

The accused actress had approached to the LHC seeking pre-arrest bail in a case registered against her on charges of firing at a man. The accused's counsel said the police implicated her in a fake case. He pleaded that applicant was not involved in any illegal activity. He said the Johar Town police lodged an FIR against her after accusing her of getting firing on complainant Mehmood Ahmad Bhatti. He requested to grant her pre-arrest bail.

Earlier, an additional sessions judge had turned down her request for bail.

murder case: Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi of the Lahore High Court on Monday summoned record while hearing bail application of Ameer Balaj Tipu, son of Tipu Truckanwala (late) in a murder case.

The police had registered a murder case against Balaj, his wife, and seven body guards. A 30-year-old man Basit was killed and his brother Munir wounded in gun assault in the Gowalmandi police area. The injured told the police that the gun attack was carried out on the behest of Balaj Tipu, son of Tipu Truckanwala.

The complainant also claimed that the deceased had property dispute with the killers. The trial court had already rejected bail application of the accused.
