QAU syndicate orders inquiry
Our correspondent
Islamabad: The Quaid-i-Azam University's syndicate has ordered an inquiry against chairperson of the Department of Earth Sciences Professor Mona Lisa over the alleged administrative irregularities. A three-member committee will hold the inquiry and submit report to the syndicate, the university’s top decision-making body. Barrister Zafarullah Khan will head the committee, while Major (r) Tahir Iqbal, Dr Waqar Shah, Dr Tassavar Hayat and a nominee of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training will be its members. Professor Mona Lisa faces the charges of discriminating against faculty members, making illegal appointments to the department, seizing laboratory goods, closing the lab during a visit of foreign delegation, and getting abolished the Mari Gas Company Limited chair established to help bridge the academia-industry gap.
