Federal Minister for Human Rights Senator Kamran Micheal has expressed deep concern about the death of sewer cleaner, Irfan Masih, in Civil Hospital, Umerkot, due to the alleged negligence of doctors and ordered an inquiry into it.
He said the government won't tolerate the criminal negligence at all and would take all those responsible for the death to the task.
Irfan Masih was reportedly cleaning a sewer when he fell into it and fell unconscious. He was taken out and rushed to the hospital but died due to the alleged negligence of doctors.
The minister said he had contacted the relevant officials and asked them to probe the matter and submit a report on it to him immediately.
He said he telephoned SSP Umerkot Usman Bajwa and asked him to register FIR against the culpable doctors before arresting them. The minister also ordered immediate inquiry into the death to ensure stern action against those behind the criminal negligence.
He said the government was responsible for protecting the rights and safety of all citizens.
Showing sympathies and solidarity with the heirs of the deceased, the minister said justice would be dispensed them without delay.
