‘Steps taken for eradication of terrorism,energy crisis fruitful’

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said Pakistan is going to get rid of crises which were being faced in 2013, as the wonderful steps taken for the eradication of terrorism and energy crisis have proved fruitful.

Talking to a delegation of overseas Pakistanis living in the Europe who called on him here Friday, the chief minister said due to the unity between political and military leadership, wonderful achievements have been secured in the war against terrorism while steps aimed at resolving energy crisis have proved fruitful.

The delegation congratulated the chief minister over the completion of 1,320mw Sahiwal Coal Power Project in a record period of time.

The delegation, while commending the performance of Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab, said the chief minister has won their hearts by setting up this institution. They expressed their utmost joy and happiness over the wonderful and fast-track completion of development projects; and added that round-the-clock work is being done in the Punjab. They added that this has also been appreciated in Pakistan as well as at the global level.

Shahbaz Sharif has made Punjab a developed and prosperous province, and they have practically witnessed Punjab Speed. This Punjab Speed is in fact Shahbaz Speed, they added. They said the chief minister has set new standards of transparency & quality and the work done by him has been appreciated the world over.

Expatriate Pakistanis love you very much, they added. The delegation also congratulated the chief minister over the successful holding of two-day international business seminar in Lahore.

Talking to the delegation, the chief minister said Pakistanis living abroad are great ambassadors of the country as they have earned niche in different sectors with their hard work and commitment.

He said that Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab has been playing an effective role in the solution of problems of expatriate Pakistanis; and told that the scope of work of this commission would be extended so that the problems of overseas Pakistanis could be solved as soon as possible. He said that OPCP has been set up to provide protection to business and properties of overseas Pakistanis because the protection of hard earned money of the great ambassadors of Pakistan is the responsibility of the government, which will be fulfilled properly.

He said Pakistan is going to get rid of crises which were being faced in 2013; the wonderful steps taken for the eradication of terrorism and energy crisis have proved fruitful. Similarly, due to the unity between political and military leadership, wonderful achievements have been secured in the war against terrorism; while steps aimed at resolving energy crisis have proved fruitful.

He said that 1,320mw Sahiwal Coal Power Project has been completed in a record period of 22 months; and the completion of this project has broken the world as well as Chinese records. He said every project of Pakistan Muslim League-N government is proof of transparency, honesty and hard work.
