International Nurses Day was celebrated on May 12 across the world. In Pakistan, several education institutions and organisations conducted programmes to pay tribute to nurses and midwives for their services. These programmes had panel discussions and Q/A sessions that helped audience gain a better understanding of this profession. Nurses play a special role in a patient’s treatment. They look after patients with full dedication and kindness. This is a respectful profession and words are not enough to thank nurses who work tirelessly to bring a patient back to life. Nurses are a ray of hope for patients.
This profession is called a ‘noble profession’ across the country. Unfortunately, in our country, not much attention is given to this field of study. We should work hard for breaking the stereotype against nurses and to change the mindset of people so that more people can come in this profession.
