Nisar seeks report from Nadra about blocked CNICs
TIMERGARA: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has sought report from the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) and ordered action against officials involved in using delaying tactics in resolving the issue of blocked CNICs of a family.
The interior minister took notice of a report published in The News on May 23 about the blocked CNICs of a whole family in Lower Dir.Director Media Ministry of Interior Islamabad, Sarfaraz Hussain, told this scribe by phone that Nadra in its report submitted to the ministry stated that the Nadra was proactively working on the case and the issue of Javed Khan and his family would be resolved soon.
Sarfaraz Hussain said that the interior minister had ordered Nadra to immediately suspend the officials delaying the issue of blocked CNICs of the family if the case was genuine.It may be mentioned here that Javed Khan, a resident of Dab Rabat in Lower Dir, had appealed to the federal interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to help him unblock CNICs of his family which had been blocked by Nadra nine years ago for inclusion of an Afghan woman in his family.
Javed Khan told The News that officials of Nadra had called him to Islamabad and assured to unblock CNICs of his family. “My family is grateful to Nisar Ali Khan for taking personal interest in resolving the longstanding issue,” he said.
