PA once again fails to meet quorum

Punjab Assembly Thursday once again had to face adjournment without completion of the business due to lack of quorum, which also brought the PML-N government under vehement criticism. 

The House was unable to hold even the question hour session due to absence of the secretary concerned which ignited the Deputy Speaker Sardar Sher Gorchani, who came hard on bureaucracy for not fulfilling its responsibilities.

Mian Tariq Mehmood, a PML-N MPA from Gujrat, drew the attention of chair towards the absence of the secretary concerned during the question hour session related with the Labour Department.

The deputy speaker on the occasion slammed bureaucracy for this apathetic attitude and summoned the secretary in his chamber on Friday (today). He directed Secretary Assembly to send this complaint to the CM in writing. The question hour session was postponed on the instructions the of deputy speaker.

Later, when debate on Food was started, Asif Mehmood of PTI pointed out quorum which the PA failed to meet and was adjourned till Friday.

Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed during the assembly session criticised the working of the PML-N government and non serious attitude of its ministers towards assembly business.

He stated that millions of rupees were spent from public money on the assembly sittings but the treasury members were not showing any interest.
