Renewable energy in Pakistan is a relatively underdeveloped sector. There is a dire need to utilise the sustainable, clean and environment friendly energy sources like solar and wind power instead of relying on burning fossil fuel.
Pakistan is developing wind power plants in Jhimpir, Gharo, Keti Bandar and Bin Qasim in Sindh. The Chagai District in Balochistan also has good potential for wind power in the Nukundi area near the Afghan-Iran border, with wind speeds often 12.5 percent higher than average required for energy generation. If the country carries out similar projects, it will soon resolve the energy crisis.
