PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chief Aftab Sherpao on Friday declared that all conspiracies against the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be foiled.
"Any solution short of merger would not be acceptable to us," the QWP chief said through a statement. The QWP would evolve a strategy shortly to speed up the pace of merger, Sherpao said. He vowed that the party would continue the struggle to secure the rights of tribal people. Sherpao also took a strong exception to prime minister's directives for the postponement of the Fata-KP merger, adding, "A dictatorial step has been taken through remote control from abroad."
The QWP deplored that a bill had been moved in the National Assembly to appease certain elements, adding, it was grave injustice to the tribal people who had rendered tremendous sacrifices for the cause of country.
