Rawalpindi Arts Council in collaboration with literary organisation arranged a ‘Mehfil-e-Mushaira’ entitled ‘Payam-e-Aman’ based on the poetry which was written in context of Peshawar incident.
Renowned poet Prof Yousaf Hassan presided over the ‘Mushaira’ and Prof Jalil Aali was chief guest while Anjum Saleemi from Faisalabad was guest of honour.
Arshad Meeraj anchored the ‘Mushaira’. RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed and Habib Ch welcomed distinguished guest at the council.
The poets who paid rich tribute to the martyrs of Peshawar incident and applauded the sacrifices of Pakistan Army were Arshad Meeraj, Ahmed Amaar, Shahid Bilal, Yawar Azeem, Adnan Bashir, Munir Fayyaz, Jahangir Imran, Dr Farhat Abbas, Farheen Ch, Riffat Iqbal, Dr Ravish Nadeem, Imran Aami, Saeed Ahmed, Farukh Raja, Hafeez ullah Badal, Ali Muhammad Farshi, Anjum Saleemi, Prof Jalil Aali and Prof Yosaf Hassan.
Addressing on the occasion, Waqar Ahmed said that all differences must be mitigated and people must be united for the sake of the development of the country. He said that our religion also gives the message of love and peace.
