Dutch experts to share business knowledge
LAHORE: A Dutch business advisory group on Tuesday vowed to help chemical manufacturers in Pakistan to bring vibrancy in their businesses and improve the industry’s productivity.
PUM Netherlands, a non-profit organisation, would arrange a fact- finding mission in collaboration with the Engineering Development Board to share expert knowledge from Netherlands for the country’s chemical industry, its country head Frans Friedeman said during a meeting with the officials of the Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers’ Association (PCMA).
Its experts would conduct a fact-finding mission across PCMA- affiliated industry and visit the interested member companies. They will come up with a report afterwards. “We connect entrepreneurs in developing countries and emerging markets with senior experts from the Netherlands each of whom has gained at least 30 years of professional experience in business environment,” Friedeman said. “These senior experts voluntarily devote their knowledge and experience for the execution of short-term consultancy/advisory projects.”
PUM Netherlands was established in cooperation with the ministry of foreign affairs and the central employers’ federations. It provides a cost-free program, contributing in the growth of businesses in developing countries by providing direct and indirect support.
Iqbal Kidwai, secretary general of PCMA said the association was formed two years ago. It is engaged in evolving a comprehensive strategy for development of Pakistan’s chemical industry, which is almost ready for implementation. “The coordination with national and international agencies by PCMA is part of the same strategy,” Kidwai said.
