Seven hospitalised in Sehwan Sharif due to hot weather
SUKKUR: Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar rendered matchless services not only for Sindh but for the entire Subcontinent, Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair said.
He said this while talking to the media after formally inaugurating the 765th annual Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar on Monday. The governor said: “This shrine has been inspirational for people. Even after security threats and the recent tragic terrorist blast in the shrine, people have come in large numbers to pay homage to Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.”
Muhammad Zubair said that Sindh had remained the land of peace throughout history but some elements were trying to sabotage the peace here, adding that such anti-state elements and enemies of peace would be dealt with iron hands to foil their nefarious designs.
He appreciated the efforts of the Sindh government, especially of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. He said that effective security measures had been put in place for safety of devotees.
To a question regarding killing of labourers in Gwadar, the Sindh governor strongly condemned the incident and said that some anti-state elements wanted to disrupt the progress of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
According to reports, seven devotees, who came for the 765th Annual Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan Sharif, lost their lives in various incidents, while seven others were admitted to the Sehwan Hospital due to extremely hot weather.
Reportedly, seven devotees, who came here to attend the annual Urs, lost their lives. These include: 65-year-old Akbar s/o Muhammad Altaf from Malir Karachi, Allah Ditta s/o Usman Khokhar from Sahiwal Punjab, 40-year-old Muhammad Iqbal s/o Khalil Ahmed Umer from Multan, 40-year-oldSajid s/o Ghulam Ali from Balochistan, 60-year-old Muhammad Parial s/o Muhammad Ismail from Moro. On the other hand, two people have not been identified so far. One of them, drowned while bathing in Aral Canal.
As per the reports, the people lost their lives due to extremely hot weather and humidity. Five dead bodies were brought to the Sehwan Hospital and handed over their relatives after completing legal formalities. However, two unidentified bodies are still in morgue.
