Punjab Minister for Higher Education Raza Ali Gillani has said that we are proud of our young talent in IT and soon we would leave India behind in this field.

According to a handout issued on Monday, he said this while addressing the prize distribution ceremony of SOFTEXPO at Punjab University’s College of Information Technology (PUCIT). PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasir, PUCIT Principal Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Raza Ali Gillani said after viewing the exhibition, “I believe nobody could defeat us in IT sector and if we focus on education, we are going to rule the world”. He said Pakistanis are the best people and better in every field of life. He said Pakistan was making rapid progress in every field and soon we would be on a par with the developed nations.

The minister said students must think positive about their country. “CPEC is going to change our destiny and I am seeing the Pakistanis who are serving in foreign countries will return in the next five years" he added. He said our neighbours who were opposing CPEC were now becoming the part of this project. He said he wanted to bring five universities of Punjab in top 500 universities of the world and PU was one of them. He appreciated the efforts of PU VC Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasir and PUCIT Principal Prof Dr Mansoor Sarwar for promoting research, encouraging students and incubating their ideas.
