MULTAN: Activists of the All Pakistan Clerks Association (Apca) staged a demonstration to press their demands here on Wednesday. They were demanding 50 per cent increase in salaries and withdrawal of sales tax on daily-use items.
The protesters said that the government had failed to provide relief to them. The Apca leaders warned of besieging the provincial assemblies and the Parliament House if their demands were not met.
They said that the skyrocketing prices of electricity, gas, petroleum products and edibles had made the lives of the poor people miserable. They alleged that the rulers were spending national resources and money to strengthen their parties instead of providing relief to the workers and government employees.
