Police fail to arrest killers

LAHORE
Millat Park police failed to arrest accused involved in the murder of a 23-year-old man who was killed on Friday night.
Police have registered a case against the accused on the complaint of Ashfaq, father of the victim.
Muhammad Ishtiaq, a resident of Al-Mumtaz Road, Milat Park, worked in a match box factory. On Friday night, three unidentified accused knocked on his door. When he opened the door, they opened fire on him. As a result he received bullet injuries and died on the spot.
Investigation Officer Rana Salman said that few days before Ishtiaq had exchanged harsh words with his neighbours on a minor issue. The murder could be a reaction, he added. Police have handed over the body to the family.
Action: City Traffic Police took action against 61,690 vehicles for tinted glasses, 43,494 vehicles for substandard number plates and 23,718 without number plates and 210 vehicles for green number plates during a crackdown on Saturday.
Chief Traffic Police Officer Tayyab Hafiz Cheema said that whoever violated the traffic laws would be taken to task without discrimination and pressure. The CTO asked SPs and DSPs to improve patrolling in their respective areas.
Meanwhile, City Traffic Police Lahore Saturday removed the diversions on Sanam Chowk and Eden center after completion of construction from Qurtaba Chowk to Shama Chowk. Chief Traffic Police officer (CTO) Tayyab Hafiz Cheema was present on the occasion.
