CM and others accused of corruption, nepotism
Special Assistant to KP
PTI CEC member Ali Asghar asks PTI leadership, KP govt to order probe;
claims having documentary evidence
ABBOTTABAD: A member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Executive Committee (CEC) on Saturday accused Special Assistant to Chief Minister Mushtaq Ghani and provincial Minister Qalandar Lodhi of corruption and nepotism.
Speaking at a press conference after workers’ convention here, PTI’s CEC member Ali Asghar Khan levelled allegations of corruption, nepotism and mismanagement against Mushtaq Ghani, Qalandar Lodhi, Member National Assembly from NA-17 Dr Azhar Jadoon and Member Provincial Assembly Sardar Muhammad Idrees.
Ali Asghar Khan asked the PTI leadership and provincial government to take action against the four elected representatives of PTI from Abbottabad.
He also demanded a high-powered inquiry commission to probe the illegalities and corruption.
Flanked by Sardar Sher Bahadur, Shaukat Tanoli, Nazir Abbasi, Jan Qureshi, Sajjad Akbar and other local PTI leaders, Ali Asghar Khan said that they had prepared the charge-sheet against them on the basis of documentary evidence.
He claimed that PTI workers in KP were unhappy with the provincial government, including most of the ministers.
He warned the provincial government of protest if it didn’t take action against them.
Ali Asghar Khan said the provincial government would have to face agitation from workers who would not allow the party to award them party tickets for the next election.
“We are in contact with party workers not only in KP but also in other provinces. We have decided to oppose the party’s decision if it awarded party tickets to them instead of party workers,” Ali Asghar Khan categorically announced in the presence of hundreds of party workers.
Ali Asghar Khan said he would contest election from NA-17 and PK-45 in next general election and asserted PTI would not be able to win even a single seat from KP if it ignored its workers in the distribution of party tickets.
Replying to a question, he said that they have raised their voice at all forums and would face all the hurdles.
He categorically said that they would participate in the public meeting of Imran Khan scheduled to be held in Abbottabad on May 14 if it was not hijacked by a group of opportunists.
Ali Asghar Khan claimed that PTI had become a vibrant political power as the party was striving to eradicate corruption and break the monopoly of those who want to maintain the status quo.
He maintained the elected representatives were not playing their role for the development of Abbottabad as they were promoting vested interests. He expressed concern at the disunity among the party workers.
To another question, Ali Asghar Khan said that they would support Imran Khan in his endeavours, adding that the PTI workers would unite under his leadership.
