Education reforms
The government introduced a biometric system for the attendance of teachers in state-run schools and colleges. This step was taken to curb the rising number of ghost teachers, especially in Sindh. More such steps should be introduced. The following suggestions might help improve the education sector, which is in decline. The Sindh Text Book Board should change the syllabus of Class IX and Class X, and make it more comprehensive. Admission to a university should be given solely on the basis of the marks secured in an entry test. Marks secured in the SSC and the HSC examinations should not be considered. This will discourage the culture of cheating in examinations.
Programmes that promote girls’ education should be held in girls’ colleges and schools to encourage students to give importance to their education. The government should adopt these steps to promote education in the country.
