Class IX, X exam results to be released on July 31
On the concluding day of the annual examinations of Class IX and X, the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) chief announced that results of the Secondary School Certificate Part-I and II will be released by July 31.
BSEK Chairman Professor Dr Saeed Uddin said the theory exams of science group had been concluded on Wednesday.
Owing to recently ongoing general population and house census, he said, the BSEK had conducted annual examinations-2017 in two phases.
The exams started on March 28 and the BSEK had established 382 examination centres for candidates of science groups, whereas 79 examination centres were set up for the general group. Over 3,50,000 students appeared in the exams – five percent more than the previous year.
The BSEK chairman said 135 unfair means cases and 18 cases of impersonations were reported during the papers. He said all these were referred to the BSEK disciplinary action committee.
Professor Dr Saeed Uddin expresses his satisfaction over peaceful holding of theory exams, but a large number of candidates claimed that they did not get full three hours to complete their papers.
Despite the BESK received many complaints that papers were not started on time, the management did not take any step to resolve the issue. Students appearing at some centres complained that papers started one hour later but they were forced to submit answer scripts in two hours. They appealed the board’s administration to take necessary action.
