MULTAN: Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi has demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif call an All Parties Conference on the Dawn Leaks issue.
Addressing a press conference at the press club here on Monday, he said that the prime minister should play his role to remove the misunderstanding created by the Dawn Leaks. He said that the political and religious leadership should adopt democratic culture to strengthen the democratic system in the country. He said the conspiracies being hatched by India and Afghanistan against Pakistan should be exposed before the world. Ashrafi said that the nation was united in safeguarding the country. He said that it was the responsibility of political and religious leadership to care about the sentiments of the armed forces at all levels.
The Pakistan Ulema Council is struggling against extremism in the country, he added. He supported the operation Raddul Fasaad and said that India and Afghanistan were involved in promoting extremism in Pakistan. Tahir Ashrafi said that the PUC would organise the Istehkam-e-Pakistan conference in Islamabad on May 3. He said the Islamic Military Alliance would help develop the international ideological alliance among the Islamic countries.
