Govt asked to conduct damage assessment survey in Tirah
BARA: The displaced people, who recently returned to Khyber Agency on Sunday, asked the government to conduct a damage assessment survey in Tirah Valley.
The affected people asked the political administration to conduct the survey in Kamarkhel and Ahmadi Malikdinkhel areas in lower Tirah.Talking to The News, Subedar (retired) Mashal Khan Afridi said the returning families were living in damaged houses.
“At least 500 Kamarkhel tribesmen, whose houses are damaged, are staying with relatives,” he said. He alleged the political tehsildar in Tirah was least bothered to lead the survey teams.Khyalmat Shah Afridi belonging to Kamarkhel tribe said that some 800 people from Bara were staying with relatives in Kamarkhel and Ahmadi Malikdinkhel.
“The people are faced with a host of problems due to the negligence of the political administration,” he said.He said a damage assessment survey was completed in Zakhakhel, Adamkhel, Malikdinkhel, Shalobar and Qambarkhel areas in Tirah Valley and the people received compensation cheques. “We are still waiting for the start of the survey to be launched in our areas too,” he added.
