ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday charged that DawnLeaks was a deliberate attempt to malign the Pakistan Army and the government must immediately make public the complete inquiry report.
Reacting to reports on action against Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi and Principal Information Officer Rao Tehsin with regards to their alleged role in the Leaks, the PTI Information Secretary Nameeul Haq said that the nation wanted to know whether or not the prime minister’s daughter and his principal secretary Fawad Hasan were also probed by the commission.
He said the the conspiracy against the important state institution was extremely shameful. He demanded making public the findings of the commission on the Leaks, saying the nation would not feel satisfied unless full details were shared with the masses. He charged the commission was formed not to resolve the issue but to further complicate it. He alleged that Nawaz Sharif’s intentions had always been skeptical, as he had become a security risk for Pakistan.
“Questions will continue to be raised unless the prime minister, who is in the habit of lying to the nation, tenders resignation while the five judges of the Supreme Court had also unanimously declared him a liar. Nawaz yet again tried to deceive the nation, as he did on the PanamaLeaks and Model Town killings,” he alleged.
Meanwhile, Imran has invited the people of Karachi to participate in PTI’s march in Karachi. In a video message, Imran has asked the PTI supporters in Karachi to start the march from the Quaid Mausoleum at 03:00pm on Sunday.
He said the purpose of holding this march was to highlight the grave issues the people of Karachi were facing today. Imran said that the Karachiites were deprived of even basic facilities as rulers had left the city to dwell on heaps of garbage.
The PTI chairman said that Karachi was far more clean 35 years ago than today. He said that it was need of the hour that people of this great city raise their voice for their fundamental rights. He further said that the citizens shouldn’t be considered a herd of sheep that can live on dirt and filth.
In his reaction to the prime minister’s speech regarding female supporters of PTI, the party’s spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry strongly condemned the PM's remarks and quipped that the prime minister, perhaps, had advised his own daughter to stay away from politics.
He advised the prime minister to accord as much respect to the daughters of the nation, as he did to his own daughter. “The prime minister’s remarks reflect his shabby thinking and sick-mindedness,” he alleged.
Fawad claimed that after the Supreme Court, the army and each state institution was under attack by Nawaz Sharif, whose cabinet had already started splitting.
