Ex-CJ asks Nawaz to step down

SUKKUR: Former CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry has demanded that Nawaz Sharif step down.  He demanded resignation of the PM while addressing a ceremony of District Bar Saturday. He said two judges of Supreme Court had remarked that Nawaz Sharif remained no more Sadiq and Ameen, therefore he should be disqualified. He said verdict on Panama is a victory of people and defeat of corrupt rulers and whole nation is demanding PM’s resignation.   The PM should step down so that democracy moral values and accountability system in the country could grow stronger, he added.  He added Nawaz will appear before JIT like Ajmal Pahari and we hope that JIT will catch his theft after which each and every door will stand closed for him.

 

LRH employees threaten boycott of proposed bill

PESHAWAR: The Health Employees Coordination Council of Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) has threatened boycott of duties if the government added the proposed amendment bill to the assembly agenda and changed status of the autonomous and institutional employees of the hospital contract workers. The hospital employees held a general body meeting in LRH, where all employees, excluding doctors and nursing staff, were present. They vowed to resist the attempt of the government to snatch their constitutional rights.

 

Kurram van blast victims compensated

PARACHINAR: The political administration on Saturday distributed compensation cheques among the heirs of April 25 van blast victims. The passenger van was targetted with an (IED on April 25 in Kurram Agency. The members of the victim’s families were given Rs3,000,00 each while the injured were given Rs1,000,00 each compensation cheques on the occasion.
