CDA suspends six employees on alleged involvement in water theft

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has suspended its six employees who are allegedly involved in water theft from main supply line of the Simly Dam that supplies water to thousands of residents of the capital city.

The orders of suspension of these employees have been issued by Human Resource Development Directorate in line with the directives of Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz who has directed to
take strict action against those who are involved in water theft anywhere in Islamabad.

According to the written orders those employees of CDA who have been suspended included Muhammad Ejaz, Abdul Akbar, Muhammad Yasin, Ajmal Mehmood, Muhammad Zaheer and Muhammad Asif.

The orders pointed out that the employees have been suspended according to the Clause 8 of CDA Employees Service Regulation 1992 and detailed inquiry would be carried out to get details about their misconduct.

These employees have been identified by a Fact Finding Committee constituted on the orders of the Mayor of Islamabad to carry out a survey and get details about the spots from where the water is being stolen from main supply line of the Simly Dam by various elements.
