Old man killed by ‘brother, sister over property’

LAHORE

An elderly man, who was kidnapped last month, was killed over a property dispute due to the negligence of local police in the Harbanspura police area.

The victim, Ishaq, was allegedly killed by his brother and sister.

The accused persons had kept the victim in Farooqabad for over a month. The victim’s son Abid said if the police would have taken action timely, his father’s life could have been saved.

The victim’s family has appealed to IG Punjab and chief minister for action against the policemen responsible and the killers.

The victim’s family has appealed to police high-ups for investigations on merit. 

safety day: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) held events in connection with World Day for Occupational Health and Safety at Work 2017 at its corporate head office and other offices in collaboration with American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. 

The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited  held a briefing session at its head office to create awareness among the employees. Professor Dr Engr Naveed Ramzan, chairman, Chemical Engineering Department, UET and Ms Madiha Shafiq on behalf of ASSE were invited as guest speakers.

Two die: Two persons lost their lives in road accidents near Suggian Bridge on Saturday.

The victims identified as Mohammad Saeed and Awais had sustained injuries in roadside accidents near Suggian Bridge.

They were rushed to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead. Police handed over the bodies to the heirs after completing legal formalities.
