Punjab Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW), Lahore arranged a seminar on women’s laws and rights at University of Education, Lahore.
The main objective of this gathering was to aware the youth about women’s laws, aims, implementation and women rights.
In this connection, PCSW Gender Management Information System Project Director Mehreen Siddiqui introduced the commission, its mandate, functions, projects and the importance of these to the attendees. She also briefed on recent pro-women laws formulated for the protection and empowerment of women and girls in Punjab, with a particular focus on matters related to marriage, inheritance, harassment, divorce and domestic violence.
Besides this, audience was informed about the functioning of PCSW service Helpline 1043 to register any sort of related complaint which starts action immediately and also provides legal advice on the spot.
