Sino-Pak cultural activities suggested

Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada on Monday said both China and Pakistan should jointly hold cultural programmes at Pak-China Centre in Islamabad and National Academy of Performing Arts in Karachi to further boost bilateral cultural relations.

"China can send its young players to Pakistan to hold competitions with Pakistani players especially in badminton and Table tennis," he told cultural counsellor of the Embassy of China You Yi, who called on him in his office here.

The minister said both Pakistan and China were enjoying long-term brotherly relations. He highlighted the Youth Exchange Programme and said 100 Pakistani youths visited China last year under the programme.

"Now it is China’s term to send its youths to visit Pakistan," he said. Mr. You Yi termed the idea good and said it was possible to execute it. He said China was going to organise an Anti-doping Conference in China on May 23 and Federal Minister Riaz Pirzada should attend it.

The minister accepted the invitation. The meeting of was also attended by Additional Secretary Ministry of Inter-provincial Coordination Tipu Mahabat Khan, Director General Pakistan Sports Board Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera and other officials of the Ministry.
