Rescue 1122 auctions old ambulances

The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) will auction 83 old condemned emergency ambulances unfit for providing swift response to emergencies on Tuesday (today) at LOS Shama Chowk. The ambulances included 67 Toyota Hiace and 16 Mercedes Sprinters. The auction process will start at 11 am. Punjab Minister for Excise & Taxation Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman and Additional Chief Secretary Services & General Administration Department (S&GAD) Shumail Ahmad Khawaja will supervise the entire auction process. The Disposal Committee for Auction comprising of DG Rescue Punjab Dr Rizwan Naseer, Deputy Secretary of Finance and Deputy Secretary of S&GAD (Transport) will convene the auction process. 

OPC: Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab is a flagship initiative of dynamic and visionary Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and is providing tremendous relief to Overseas Pakistanis by resolving their complaints at the earliest. This was stated by vice chairperson OPC Shaheen Khalid Butt and Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti while addressing the participants of a reception given by Pakistani community in Paris.

Leaders of Pakistani community and a large number of Overseas Pakistanis living in Paris and others cities of France were present. VC and Commissioner OPC said that Overseas Pakistanis are the cultural ambassadors of the country all over the world and have made tremendous contribution to their homeland in different walks of life.

They informed that OPC is one window operation for resolution of the problems of Overseas Pakistanis, and in this regard instructions of the CM are carried out in letter and spirit. They said since its inception, OPC is engaged in providing various services to Overseas Pakistanis while district Overseas Pakistanis committees (DOPCs) are also playing an active role in providing relief to expatriates at local level. Representatives of Pakistani community in Paris while addressing the participants of the event said under the leadership of the CM, OPC is providing excellent relief to Overseas Pakistanis.

At least 670 road crashes were reported in Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which four lives were lost and 573 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant districts and tehsils. However, some 228 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid by Emergency Medical Teams. 

COPS SELECTED: A ballot was held at Central Police Office to nominate police officers and officials to help and guide Pakistani pilgrims during Hajj 2017. Sixty officers and officials from Grade 9 to 17 were selected after the draw. The draw was held under the supervision of Add IGP Establishment Arif Nawaz while DIG Establishment-II, Salman Ch, AIG Admin Zubair Dareshak and AIG Discipline, Shahzad Akbar were present.

Thousands of candidates from all units of Punjab police, including traffic police, Elite Force, Punjab Highway Patrol, Investigation, Training and Counter Terrorism Department, across Punjab had applied to be “Moavineen-e-Hujjaj”, out of which 60 lucky winners aged between 25-45 years with education not less than Matric were selected through a transparent process. With collaboration of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, selected officers and officials will go to Saudi Arabia to help and guide Pakistani pilgrims during Haj.
