While pushing the International Islamic University (IIU) for joint ventures with the Saudi universities, acting ambassador of Saudi Arabia Marwan R Merdad promised full support and cooperation for the purpose.

He gave the call during a meeting with IIU President Dr Ahmed Yousif Al Draiweesh in his office here. The IIU vice presidents accompanied the university’s president. Both the sides agreed on the increase in the Pak-Saudi cooperation in the field of education and said they would help each other in furthering the cause of education in the two countries.

The IIU president thanked the acting ambassador for his support and participation in the activities held in line with 12th meeting of the university’s board of trustees. He said the IIU was striving to hold joint ventures with Saudi varsities to help address the challenges of modern times.

Dr. Al-Draiweesh said the IIU would keep playing the due role in dissemination of Islam’s true message of peace in the world. The ambassador promised full support to the IIU in its programmes and said the university should also expand its joint ventures with Saudi universities.
